P2ZE-FLASH

Not only for your rough opening flashing,  but for joint sealing too!

P2ZE-Flash is a single component silyl terminated polymer sealant intended for use as a liquid-applied flashing and joint sealing product. It is solvent free, isocyanate free, and it bonds to most common building materials without priming. It forms a seamless flexible barrier that prevents penetration of unwanted water and air through the building envelope while being breathable to allow damp surfaces to dry. It may be exposed to UV light and weather for up to 12 months.  Available in either 20oz or for when you don't need a full tube, 10oz.

Silyl-Terminated Polymer (STP) and why we like this chemistry!

STP is a type of high-performance hybrid polymer that has a backbone terminated with silyl (silane) groups. It is a sub-type of the broader category of Silyl-Modified Polymers (SMPs).

Key Characteristics and Properties:
STP polymers combine many of the advantageous properties of both traditional polyurethane and silicone materials, while eliminating some of their disadvantages.

Moisture Curing:
STPs is a single-component system that cures at ambient temperature through a reaction with atmospheric moisture.

Safety and Environmental Friendliness:
They are free of solvents and isocyanates (unlike conventional polyurethanes), improving the working environment and making them a sustainable option with low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) levels.

Adhesion:
They exhibit excellent, primerless adhesion to a wide range of substrates, including metals, plastics, concrete, and glass.

Durability and Flexibility:
STPs are known for their high elasticity, durability and tear resistance. They form flexible and tough bonds that accommodate movement.

Weatherability:
They offer good resistance to UV light and harsh weather conditions, and perform well in low-temperature environments.

Common Applications:
Due to their versatile properties, STPs are widely used in a variety of industrial applications, particularly as adhesives and sealants: Construction: Used in sealants for joints, windows, doors, and waterproofing applications. Transportation: For assembly and bonding of components in vehicles such as trucks, trailers, buses, RVs, and marine and construction applications. Assembly: Used for general assembly of parts, container constructions, and fixing solar panels.

In summary, STP's provide a durable, flexible, and environmentally conscious alternative to traditional sealants and adhesives, bringing together the best features of different polymer chemistries.
